Were you one of the lonely ones this Valentine’s Day and is it still weighing on your mind? I can recommend a quick fix to entertain and distract you from your melancholy for at least a little while. The remedy is to play the My Virtual Girlfriend app developed by WET Productions Inc. on your iPhone or in HD on your iPad. Like I said the mobile app is a quick fix and the possibility of a permanent one depends on how lonely you really are.

Just as the title says you have a virtual girlfriend, a female looking 3d character for you to build a loving relationship with. Yeah you might think it’s kind of creepy at first but once you try it’s not that bad at all, it will feel more like a game than anything else. If you have played or even heard of the Sims game then you will know what to expect.

The game starts out by having you select options best describing yourself and then the qualities that you like in a girl. From this information you will have a selection of three girls to choose from and once you decide which one you prefer then your romance with her begins. All the interaction is controlled by either what they call “emotes” and the other options like “share an activity together” (playing video games), blowing a kiss and even touching. These all can be easily found on the left hand side when required. As you level up more and more of these interactive alternatives are provided and they become more risque which I am sure you will smile about.

I’m guessing the touching option is the most interesting among the guys but be careful this is something you can’t just jump into and touch her everywhere, just like most times in real life. You have to play it cool and build up to the point when your virtual girlfriend will allow you to touch her. So a better approach into wooing the girl and getting to second base then third is by sharing the activities that she would like to do and always agreeing with what she says during your dialogs together. This will also fill up your heart meter on the top right and when it is full you will level up. You have to remember that this is a game and things don’t always work out the way you think it will which to me sometimes doesn’t make sense. Like when I buy the girl a new pair of shoes and she does not accept them.  Tell me which girl doesn’t like getting new shoes as a gift? Another good example is when I took my virtual girl to have a walk in the park which she disapproved of because she got an allergic reaction to the surroundings. This randomness is all part of the game, sometimes you win and sometimes you lose even if you think you figured it out.

Looking at the graphics for the game I would say they are mediocre, some of the girls look like men but overall they look decent enough to imagine as a virtual girlfriend. I think the reason for this is that they are made up of large polygons which are not that refined, like the hair for example and there will be crashing issues because of these polys. I see this come up when the girls start touching their chests. If the characters were more refined and smoother it would help make the girls a little more attractive looking. I don’t know if you can call them curves on these girls but once you get to the higher levels and have them in their lingerie their shapes are easy enough to discern, which I’m sure will appease many men. Moving the camera around the room will allow you to see the living quarters of each girl where everything also is easy to distinguish but the main thing that will interest you will be looking up and down the girl. So the viewing of the girls place is not of big interest.

To mention again the My Virtual Girlfriend app will not be a cure-all solution but I think will give enough temporary relief from your anguish or gloominess to get you in the right mind set and make you realize that the right things you do with your virtual girlfriend can actually be applied to the real thing.
