It’s Lights Out For You Other Alarm Clocks

Whenever I travel abroad I never use the available alarm clocks in the hotel rooms because of the many bad incidences that I have had with them in the past. Instead I always have ready on hand and rely on the Nightstand Central app developed by Thomas Huntington, which is so infallible that the app is on both my iPhone and iPad.
This is not your average run-of-the-mill alarm clock app, I call it the Swiss Army knife of bedside table clocks because of the many options available for almost every function, from the display to the alarm, plus they are easily customizable to your preferences. If you want even more functionality, you must download the full version of this mobile app, which is definitely worth getting.
Both the iPhone and iPad versions are fantastic but I think similar to all other apps that have a version for the two devices, the iPad variant will show off the app on a more larger scale. I tested the Nightstand Central app on the iPad and the display was beautiful. It had large easy to read numbers and characters, sharp crisp background images (Wallpapers) along with the date and current temperature (Fahrenheit or Celsius) in my area. A few other simple options that I could toggle on or off for the display were the seconds counter that was shown in the bottom right corner and the time in either the 24 or 12 hour time mode. However to get the most out of the display functions you will need the full version, then you can do things such as upload your own BG photos from your library and have them automatically rotate through. You will also have the option to position anywhere and resize the clock on your iDevice to your liking.
Waking up to the sounds of birds chirping or the ocean waves crashing is always a pleasant sensory experience and Nightstand Central offers these in addition to the many other great alarm sound presets. My personal favorites are the birds chirping and the classic Reveille bugle call. What is even better though is to have your own favorite music wake you and this option is also available on the app but only with the full version. The repeat alarm option, adjustable snooze times , support for multiple alarms, and the cool fade in sound or music function are all alarm features that can be found in every version of the Nightstand Central app.
You probably wouldn’t think a simple app such as this one would include any innovative features, well guess again. The developer has added a clever finger gesture function where if you slide your finger down on the screen it will get dimmer and if you slide in the opposite direction the display will brighten up. Others include you shaking your iDevice to either put your alarm in snooze mode or to toggle on a flashlight and by tapping on the screen once this will bring up in a small window the short term local weather forecast. These are all inventive features that you would want on your standard alarm clock but definitely won’t find.
Nightstand Central is a mobile app that will replace any alarm clock wherever you are in the world, even the one in your own bedroom because it’s pleasing to the eye and you can always count on it to wake you up when needed.
