How Thirsty Are You?

Here’s an app for you guys that can help quench your thirst while taking your taste buds on a new adventure. The app is Thirsty Dudes and what it offers are reviews and ratings of unique beverages (non-alcoholic) with ingredients that will mystify the senses and found in countries from all over the world.

This app is almost a direct translation of the Thirsty Dudes actual website but a little more condensed and because both the site and the app are based on a blogging  style format, the app is very simple in terms of usability. For the most part you will be in the Reviews and Categories sections of the app. The reviews are well-written and detailed enough to give you a good idea of what to expect from each drink. A few other tidbits of information you get in the Reviews section are the countries that the drinks are produced in, a five bottle rating system and a website link of the beverage company, which is usually available.  For the Categories, they are there to help you refine your drink review search. There are 23 categories in total to choose from, such as your conventional energy drinks and juices to peculiar ones like Chunky Drinks and Elixirs and if you think that some of the category names are strange you should see the names of a number of the actual drinks. My favorites so far are the Neurogasm and the Naked Superfoof Green Machine.

A few things to mention that I think would improve upon the current app is to first have more images added of the drinks.  Let the users see what the actual drink looks like and not only the can. Another is to employ a more interactive rating system which will allow all app users to vote on their favorite drinks and thus get them more engaged with the app.

On the flipside, some of the positives to note are the comment system and the filtering structure. For the comment system you can provide your comments for any drink in the app with ease. In terms of the filtering structure, it is another tool to help breakdown your beverage search with three different ways to do this, by Rating (high to low or vice versa), Date (new to old or vice versa) and Company (A to Z or vice versa).

So if you are getting bored trying the commonly found drinks at your local convenient store than Thirsty Dudes is your ticket to exploring libations of the unknown!
